Just a pear

Pear

Simple and cute and quick to make. The pattern is Amigurumi Girl’s pear pattern , minus the leaf. This is perhaps not the most realistic shade of green to use, but it was all I had on hand. Oh well. ^_^;; (Like a pear with a smiley face needs to be realistic…! ^_^)

Amigurumi cupcake tutorial

This tutorial accompanies my free cupcake pattern and is geared towards beginners. It assumes you have a basic understanding of several crochet techniques or a reference available–single crochet, slip stitches, chain stitches, increasing and decreasing in single crochet, and how to count stitches. Don’t know what these are? Try Google or your local library for how to crochet instructions. UK residents please note that US and UK crochet patterns use the same terms to describe different stitches, apparently designed for maximum confusion. ^_^;; I use US terms.

Geek alert

Here are the character amigurumis I’ve made to date–humans and humanoids. ^_^ Making character ami’s is fun, sort of like sewing plushies but more limiting due to the small size. These little guys are about 5-6″ tall.

Sailor Moon amigurumi  Sailor Moon, from Bishojo Senshi Sailor Moon. SM was my first favorite anime. I briefly considered making all the sailors but…I just don’t like the series that much anymore to make it worth the time. -_-;; So I just have Usagi-chan.

Gandalf  Gandalf from Lord of the Rings, natch. With crazy hair. XD

 Voyager amigurumi set

The crew of Star Trek: Voyager amigurumified. Not sure if spending several months working on these makes me a Trekkie… ^_^;; Anyway, they were really fun to make and I’m happy that the whole set is actually finished!

…hmm. Anime, LOTR, Star Trek. I’m such a geek. ^^

Chihuahua

This is one of the first ami’s I made back in February, the chihuahua (seems to be a popular pattern, as I’ve seen a lot of them around). The head looked ridiculously big before I sewed the pieces together. OK…it still looks ridiculously big! ^_^

I gave this to my friend’s daughter because she (my friend) loves chihuahuas, while I’m not particularly fond of them. But it’s a cute pattern nevertheless, and pretty easy.
