I’ve been playing Final Fantasy VII lately. A lot. OK, I’m obsessed with it right now. As a result…
I luv Aeris! Or Aerith, if you will. ^_^ This was a great little project to make as I obviously haven’t done any crocheting for a long time…I attribute this to the fact that my friend started a knitting group back in February and I’ve pretty much been on a knitting kick since then. I’ve got some vacation coming up around the holidays, though, so I’m hoping to get more FFVII charas done. :D
Hope you like her! (Sorry, no pattern.)
I just realized that I never posted a picture of my Totoro amigurumi here, only on Ravelry. So, here we are:
He was a Christmas present for my friend E-san. ^_^ (Sorry, I didn’t save the pattern…)
In other news I have been super super swamped with school and haven’t had any time to crochet, knit, sew… X_X But I’ve got a couple ideas for amigurumi patterns that I’d like to work on as soon as time allows.
I’ve been a fan of the Dragon Warrior/Dragon Quest games since I got the first one with a subscription to Nintendo Power as a kid. So when I found this totally awesome slime amigurumi pattern by user arpelia on Ravelry, I had to make one. Actually, I was going to make three (red slime and metal slime also), but spending a few evenings hunched over under the brightest light in the house working with embroidery floss and a tiny 1.65 mm hook, I decided to put the other two on the to do list for now.
He is very cute! I stuffed him with partly with plastic pellets and partly with polyfil, so he’s very squishy and fun to hold. ^_^
Really. I don’t know why I didn’t sign up earlier. ^_^;; My user name is, unsurprisingly, Nimoe. Anyway, I would love to gush more about how awesome and handy Ravelry is, but alas I must pack for a trip. I hope to come back with a finished or nearly finished knitted scarf and less homework to do.
Here’s a pattern for a little cat amigurumi. This was originally supposed to be my fox pattern (sort of), but that ended up going off on a different tangent. So I turned this into a kitty named Miuku (mew-koo). My cat Luna insisted on being in the picture.

Another Saiunkoku amigurumi finished, yay! It’s Shi Ryuuki this time around, my fave SaiMono character who brings out my inner squee-ing fangirl. And here I thought I’d outgrown that phase. XD I’d like to try making a bigger version with the more elaborate court robes (elaborate robes = pretty)… The simpler outfit is a lot easier to make into a chibi doll, though!
It’s a good thing Shuurei is there to lean on ’cause he’s about to fall over under the weight of the hair. ^_^;;
Finally finished my Kouyuu amigurumi from Saiunkoku Monogatari that I started, like, ten years ago… ^_^;; I was going for a grumpy look. The little hair bun thing was really fun to make. Doll hair amuses me way too much, I think. ^^
Ryuuki is (probably) next. :D
I haven’t been crocheting lately due to this weird arm pain of still unknown origin. I started doing Pilates a couple months ago and after that both my arms and shoulders got really sore, especially the right one (and I am right-handed). The doctors have no idea what’s going on, as tends to be the case in my experience (I also have RSD , long story there), but they told me to avoid repetitive moments…so that’s what I’ve been doing. Doesn’t seem to be making much of a difference, so I figure it might be safe to start crocheting again. ^_^;;
Some people have asked about patterns for the Sailor Moon amigurumi and others that I made. Thank you for asking but unfortunately I don’t have a pattern for those. Sorry! ^^
I’ve really been in a crocheting mood lately. It might be because classes are in session and my free time now comes pre-sliced in small chunks. It might also be because my brain is spastic and is just finding it easier to concentrate on smaller crafty projects right now. ^_^
Anyway, my current anime obsession continues to be Saiunkoku Monogatari (I’m up to season 2, episode 17 as of this writing), thus the Shuurei amigurumi:
I think she turned out kawaii, if I do say so myself. ^^ Even my mom thinks so, and she doesn’t watch anime. ^_^;; She’s cuter in person, actually. I took a few liberties with the outfit and I couldn’t find yarn and felt colors exactly accurate to the original. But the only thing I think I would change is making those stitches under the chin with peach, not pink. I wasn’t planning ahead. (And I didn’t notice the bow/sash was crooked in the picture, oops.)
Reference picture for those unfamiliar with the series:
Of course now I want to make ami’s of all the main characters, but I always say things like that and get distracted before I ever get around to it. *major sweatdrop* I did start Kouyuu, though, and I do also want a Ryuuki to go with Shuurei (he’s my favorite character ^_^). For now, homework calls.
Size: 5″ tall
Worsted weight yarn (I used Red Heart Super Saver in Carrot, Black, and Soft White)
3.75 mm (F) hook
Black embroidery floss
8 mm safety eyes
